With the event coinciding with the 100 year anniversary of Victoria University, the festivities and sport are a fantastic way to celebrate this momentous milestone.
Australian University Sport CEO Don Knapp said partnership with Victoria University and Maribyrnong City Council is crucial to the operation of this event and many of the sports will be played on campus and in council venues.
“Victoria University has a very strong recreational and elite sport program, with a number of scholarship students as well as state and national representatives in their respective sports,” Mr Knapp explained.
“Regional university sporting events provide students with the opportunity to pursue a dual education and sport pathway, which results in both tertiary qualifications and sport participation at all levels of sport across Australia,” Mr Knapp added.
